We would like to inform you that in the period of October 27-29, 2008 the Second International Conference "Supercomputer systems and applications" (SSA`2008) will be held in the United Institute of Informatics Problems, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The Byelorussian-Russian seminar on GRID-technologies (under the program "SKIF-GRID") will be organized on the 28th of October 2008 on the basis of the Conference.
Meeting of all participants of the program "SKIF-GRID" and the project "BalticGrid-II" will take place in the period of October 29-30, 2008.
Scientific-educational seminar for youth will be held from the 31st of October till the 1st of November.
The aim of the Second International Conference "Supercomputer systems and applications" is experience exchange in the field of fundamental and applied research on supercomputer systems development, GRID-technologies and contemporary high technologies of parallel computations, new technologies of computation resources allocation. It is supposed to discuss the problems of implementation of the main components of high information technologies, such as: access to the supercomputer computational recourses using GRID-technologies, selection and application of security providing technologies; hard and software; training. Scientific and practical results, obtained in the frame of Russia-Belarus Union State programs "SKIF" and "TRIADA" and scientific-engineering backlog of the program "SKIF-GRID" will be taken into account.
The solution of above mentioned questions will promote the creation of unified informational area of the Union State, the integration to international information projects, the implementation of information technologies to industry and other fields of national economy on the basis of supercomputer resources with use of GRID-technologies..
The PROGRAM COMMITTEE pays special attention to the participation of representatives of industry in the Conference. Round-table discussion "MULTIPROCESSOR CALCULATIONS IN INDUSTRY. EXPERIENCE. PRACTICAL RESULTS" is in the program of the Conference.
The international seminar on GRID-technologies with participation of Balticgrid project members will be organized.
